L&L® DLH11-DX Electric Kilns
The L&L® DLH11-DX Electric Kiln is a high-performance, compact test kiln engineered specifically for test tiles, glaze development, ceramic jewelry, small sculptural work, and studio sampling. With an approximate capacity to hold 4 to 6 standard coffee mugs or dozens of glaze test tiles, this kiln is constructed with heavy-duty industrial components to achieve high-fire Cone 10 temperatures with signature L&L durability. Revered for its patented hard ceramic element holders, superior heat uniformity, extended service life, and effortless maintenance, it is the premier choice for serious potters, teachers, and material testing laboratories.
L&L® Genesis™ Mini Touchscreen Controller
Moving beyond manual switches and witness cone shut-offs, the DLH11-DX features the intuitive Genesis Mini touchscreen controller, delivering precise, automated firing cycles:
- Cone Fire Mode: Allows users to fire effortlessly by entering basic parameters (Cone number, firing speed, and final hold time), ensuring repeatable and consistent glaze maturation with minimal setup.
- Ramp/Hold Mode: Supports customized multi-step programs featuring up to multiple segments of heating rates, cooling profiles, and soak times, giving users total creative control over specialty glaze and crystalline cycles.
- Full-Color Touchscreen Interface: Offers smooth, modern navigation, diagnostic status alerts, firing logs, and real-time chamber temperature displays.
- Integrated Wi-Fi Connectivity: Enables remote cycle monitoring via a free mobile app, cloud data logging, and seamless over-the-air firmware upgrades.

- Internal Volume: 14.15 Liters (0.50 cu. ft.)
- Approximate Capacity: 4 to 6 standard coffee mugs (or extensive glaze test racks)
- Maximum Temperature: Cone 10 (1290°C / 2350°F)
- Net Kiln Weight: Approx. 43 kg (95 lbs) | Shipping Weight: Approx. 66 kg (145 lbs)
- Heavy-Duty Hinge: All-stainless steel hinge engineered with an extra-wide opening angle for safe, clear loading and unloading.
- Full-Support Stand: Heavy-duty aluminized steel stand providing continuous, solid bottom support to protect the reversible bottom brick and prolong the kiln's operational life.
- Solid Ceramic Peephole Plug: Features a wide-angle viewing port with a durable, non-tapered solid ceramic plug that will not crumble or crack.
Heating Elements & Patented Ceramic Element Holders
Utilizes heavy-gauge Kanthal A-1 resistance coils fitted inside L&L’s exclusive hard ceramic element holders:
- Eliminates element grooving in the brick, preventing firebrick disintegration and eliminating debris falling onto glazed pieces.
- Secures coils firmly to prevent element sagging, vastly extending coil life and maintaining peak electrical efficiency.
- Industrial ceramic terminal blocks ("No-Crimp" connections) utilize heavy torqued stainless steel washers, making element replacement simple and reliable.
- Operational Lifespan: 250 to 400 firings (dependent on firing temperature and frequency).
Heavy-Duty Protected Type-K Thermocouple
- Extra-thick 8-gauge Chromel-Alumel (Type-K) thermocouple engineered to meet strict ANSI Special Limit of Error specifications.
- Fitted with a ceramic protection tube that shields the tip from harsh atmospheric gases and stops oxide flake contamination.
- Ensures stable, micro-accurate thermal readings directly to the controller for perfectly repeated firings.
- Operational Lifespan: 150 to 250 firings (dependent on operating temperatures).
